Past, Present And Future Essay
Past, Present and FutureIntroductionThis paper reflects upon my personal and professional growth during my study at the University of Phoenix. I am actively pursuing a degree in marketing. During my journey, I have undergone many personal and professional changes.
Part One- PastWhen beginning my journey at the University of Phoenix there was a void in my life and a feeling of disappointment that I had not furthered my education. I had always considered the role of learning an important aspect in my personal growth but I had set college aside to raise a child and maintain my family. When the time was right and I felt comfortable to take on the challenge I decided that I would enroll in college classes online. Online classes were the best option for me to accommodate my hectic schedule.
At the time I believed my level of professional competence was exactly in line with my peers and my superiors. I had excellent problem solving skills, good written communications, adequate oral communication and the information retrieval, utilization, and collaboration processes were above average. Overall I believed I had a balance of the skills needed to further my career; the only thing that I was lacking was a degree.
My career goals were to work my way up the ladder at my current organization. After attaining my degree I planned on steering my career path towards the marketing and advertising side of the company. I was currently taking over some of the marketing responsibilities here and there and I believed by furthering my education I could become one of the future marketing representatives and continue to work my way up from there.
Part Two- PresentThe first class I completed at the University of Phoenix introduced me to the on-line environment and the team concept. This class also taught me the importance of written communication and the interpretation of what is in writing. As my journey continued, I had the fortunate opportunity of learning to research very specific topics which has proven to be very valuable both personally and professionally. I quickly learned that once quality research is complete, the utilization and collaboration is much easier. With supporting data, problem solving and oral communication improve. From each and everyone one of my classes I have learned the importance of team work and strengthened my skills in personal and professional discipline.
Now, after completing all of the core competencies in my program, I feel confident in applying some of the techniques I've learned to various tasks encountered at work. The formal training that I have acquired through my general courses has been evident in the knowledge and self-assurance that exudes in my day-to-day activities. I reflect on the job struggles I had had in the past and before...

My Past Life
- Length: 463 words (1.3 double-spaced pages)
- Rating: Excellent
I’m going to write about my past life and how it has influenced me now that I am older. Most of the bad things I did and most of the good things I did while I was growing up.
Five things that have affected my life. One was when I was small my dad when to stop. Because of this situation I don’t even like to drink because beer could have had my dad killed. It’s a good thing that he doesn’t drink now because if he did I wouldn’t live with him for being an alcoholic father.
The second is when I was 11 years old I found out that I was pretty good at playing basketball. Because of basketball I’m glad I didn’t turn out like the rest of my neighborhood friends, a gangster and a lowlife locked up for years.
The third is when I was in 6th grade my older brother got sick from a disease called diabetes that you get from eating too much sugar. When I found out I got scared and I stopped eating a lot of sweet stuff and I started playing sports to keep myself healthy.
My fourth is when I was a 7th grader my friend started getting involved in gangs. Most of my friends were getting is that when I got to high school I found out that everything you do affects you in the future. I was getting bad grades and I was never able to play sports cause of my grades. Now I know I have to get good grades to play sports and I could graduate from Avenal High School.
The three most influential people are my sister mom and dad. My sister cause she would always stop me when I was making stupid decisions. One time I was going to stop playing sports just to go mess around with my gangster friends and she wouldn’t let me.
My mom cause she would spank me every time I got in trouble doing dumb things. She would always care for me and didn’t let me get too crazy. She would always make me come to school because she thinks having an education is the most important thing so I thank showed me how to take care of myself.
